[JetBackup](https://help.blakemarkdigital.co.uk/cpanel#jetbackup) # Restoring a full account backup We use JetBackup for our internal system backups and we share these backups with you to enable restoration of files, databases, CRON jobs, DNS Zones, Email, SSL Certificates and your full account. You can also download copies of these backup files. JetBackup is accessed from within your accounts cPanel, in the **Files** section or directly through the **JetBackup 5** section. **Please Note:** - a full account restore will overwrite every component of your hosting account - your files, databases, mailboxes etc. Be sure this is what you want to do before continuing. If you just want to restore a single file, or database, please see the section below to restore an individual element. ### Getting Started #### Restoring a Full Account Backup 1. Log into cPanel. 2. Under the **Files** section, click on **JetBackup 5** to go to the JetBackup Dashboard.![](https://files.helpdocs.io/8nzbvyta9f/articles/8sdmuzqvg1/1651062739559/jet-backup-email-image-1.png) 3. From the dashboard, click the **Full Backups** icon![](https://help.blakemarkdigital.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Sep-14-2026-08-38-21-6639-AM.png?width=1280&height=638&name=image-png-Sep-14-2026-08-38-21-6639-AM.png) 4. You can then return to the dashboard and click the **Queue** button to check on progress - you'll see when the restore is marked as Status **Completed.**![](https://files.helpdocs.io/8nzbvyta9f/articles/4xzgi9eyy7/1650627888177/jet-backup-5-image-dashboard-full-backups-image-3.png) #### Full account backup - Download Clicking **Generate Download** will produce a full backup file of your account ready for download. Once the file has been generated you will see the **Download** link in place of Generate Download. In the image above the top row has had a download generated and is ready to be downloaded to your local device. The resulting file will have the extension .tar.gz - .tar indicates the file is an archive and .gz indicates the tar file has been compressed. You will need a suitable program to both decompress the archive and extract the files should you wish to access the contents. 1. You will be taken to the Job Queue. From the downloads menu, clicking **Download** will begin downloading the file.
